Editorial policy

What this site will and will not do, in writing, so the editorial and moderation process is checkable rather than assumed.

The separation of editorial judgment from payment is a documented editorial practice (Wikipedia, editorial independence).

How panels get reviewed

A panel enters the directory from public sources, gets a WHOIS check, a catalog check and an API latency measurement, and receives a dated entry. Panels without complete measurements are listed as under review and carry no score. Scores and risk scores are computed by the published formulas on the methodology page; nobody, including the owners of this site, can change them by payment.

Measurements over opinions

Editorial content on this site is written after the measurements, not before them. Human verdicts summarize the dated data and link to it; they are not a second scoring system. Where a claim is not measured, it is labeled as such.

User reviews: moderation standards

Public reviews are moderated before publishing. We approve reviews that are first-hand, specific and relevant, and reject or remove ones that are spam, abusive, defamatory, off-topic, or written by the panel owner about their own panel. Reviews stay up until a material correction or the reviewer's removal request. Moderation is logged in the operator console with a timestamp.

Flags: dated, categorized, resolvable

Flags are dated observations from crawls and verified reports, categorized (transparency, claims, security, stability) with a severity. A flag is cleared only when the evidence changes; cleared flags remain visible as resolved, with both dates. A verified owner can respond to a flag and request a re-check, which is an advantage of ownership, not a removal path.

Ownership and labeling

The site is operated by the team behind Ezkify and Smmize. Those panels are labeled on every page where they appear and scored by the identical formula. The editor's pick block shows one of them per visitor session, randomly, labeled "ours · disclosed", with the unmodified score. See the disclosure page for the full arrangements.

Sponsored content

Sponsored placements are labeled, visually distinct from rankings, and never influence scores, risk scores or verdicts. Referral relationships are marked in link markup. If a placement is not obviously labeled, that is a bug; report it at contact@smmscout.com.

Corrections

Directory data comes from public sources and can be wrong. Panel owners can claim a listing, correct data and respond to flags. Corrections are applied with the correction date recorded on the page. Substantive errors in editorial content are corrected in place with a visible note and date. Corrections are logged in directory updates.

AI and automation

Scores, risk scores and rankings are computed by code from dated inputs; they are never generated by an AI model. Editorial text is written and reviewed by the SMMScout team. No panel data on this site is produced by AI estimation.

The editorial practices here follow documented norms (Wikipedia, editorial independence).

Sources

Every claim with a number on this site has a source: WHOIS records for ages, live public catalogs for service counts, measured latency for performance, and dated crawls for payments and flags. Where a number is estimated or unknown, it is labeled as such. We do not publish figures we cannot source.

Reviewers

Reviews are produced by the SMMScout data team and verified against the same public sources available to readers. There are no anonymous paid reviews and no review-for-reward arrangements.
