Terms of service

Last updated August 14, 2026. These terms cover the directory, the data API, user reviews, panel claims and sponsored placements. Using the site means accepting them.

1. What this site is

SMMScout publishes directory data, measurements, rankings and risk scores for informational purposes. Scores are computed from public data by the formula on the methodology page. We make no guarantee that any panel will deliver, and use of any listed panel is at your own risk and within the terms of the platforms involved.

2. Engagement services and platform terms

Engagement services exist in the space between creators and platforms (Wikipedia, social media); platform terms of service are the legal frame for both buyers and sellers (Wikipedia, terms of service).

Purchasing engagement services (followers, likes, views) can breach the terms of social platforms. Account consequences are the buyer's responsibility. The site does not sell engagement services; it measures the businesses that do.

3. Directory data

Directory data is collected from public sources, dated, and corrected when errors are reported. The data may not be scraped at scale for commercial reuse without permission. Scores and risk scores cannot be influenced by payment or affiliation: sponsored placements are labeled and separate.

4. The data API

/api/panels.json is free to use for personal projects, research and attribution-linked quotes. Commercial resale of the dataset as a product requires written permission. Reasonable rate limits apply; abusive scraping may be blocked.

5. User reviews

Reviews are moderated before publishing and must be honest, first-hand and relevant. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and quote your review on the site and in derived publications. We may reject or remove reviews that are spam, abusive, defamatory or otherwise unfit, without notice. You may request removal of your review at contact@smmscout.com.

6. Panel claims and verification

Claiming a panel proves control of the domain via a public token. The +25 bonus is a scoring input, not an endorsement. False claims, or claiming a domain you do not control, are grounds for removal from the directory and can be reported to the domain registrar.

7. Sponsored placements

Placements (Pro $10/mo, Featured $25/mo, add-ons) are monthly and labeled. They never change scores or risk scores. Placements can be cancelled with one email and end at the end of the paid period. Payments are processed by Stripe; payment disputes follow Stripe's process.

8. Intellectual property

The site's design, code and text are ours unless noted. Panel names, domains and service names belong to their owners and are used for identification and measurement. Third-party review quotes link to their sources.

9. No warranty and liability

The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on the data, rankings, tools, reviews or any listed panel. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Governing law

This site is operated from Switzerland. These terms are governed by Swiss law, and the courts of Basel-Stadt have jurisdiction. See the Impressum for operator details.

11. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes are logged in directory updates.
